In case you are either a budding superhero or pirate scurvy dog: The Brooklyn Superhero Supply Company 826 Valencia Pirate Supply Store
Gruesome re-imagining of the Pixar intro (If anybody can explain what 8==o means...I mean, it COULD be an ASCII penis, or it could be programmer-speak for checking if variable "o" is value "8".)
Also, I had an employee review today that was positively glowing. They said that I should speak up a bit more and stop thinking that what I had to say was stupid. Well sorrrr-y, if you meant that I should stop despising myself, well, you're at least 10 years too late. Also, getting really stir-crazy now. Exciting! No seriously. No wai. No, u. |

So I should really be asleep since I locked myself out of the apartment this morning which triggered one of those spontaneous monthly (read: male PMS) super-bad-moods that, combined with Black Winged Bird by Nina Persson (psst it's FREE on Amazon, along with something like 500 other songs. WTF, amazon) hasn't left me in the most bestest of self-preservationist moods, and I am generally really pissed off at myself for being so sloppy (third time I've locked myself out this month), and kinda need to get up early tomorrow, but... wait, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, HOLY MOTHER F'IN S' WHAT TH-
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA BLANKETED BY RED DUST
(Alternate link in case lj is still hiccuping...)
It's kinda like as if the South Californian wild fires and Silent Hill decided to have a demonic hellfire-backlit fog baby. Case in point- Sydney turning into ALTERNATE SYDNEY...hill:
(You will have to produce your own air raid siren, sorry. If you have one, begin playing it at 0:23! It's AMAZOING) (Alternate link in case lj is still hiccuping...)

Dear Wacom: What the fuck?

Also: ChefStack, an automatic pancake making machine. (Next up, world domination.)
Speaking of which: A high-speed robot hand I bet it could rip out larynges(voiceboxes) quite fast, I'd give it about 500 lps (larynges-per-second) P.S.- Vocal chords are freaky-looking things..
Lastly, why we should go back to the days pre-robot-dictatorship: The Best Muppet Show Beatles Covers
P.P.S.- AIRPLANE XING (better watch out for that jet blast (IN A WORLD WHERE a video is chosen for its corny over-dramatic narrator))
Otherwise...well, still goin nuts. Taking more public transportation and walking more though, which is nice. Not losing any weight over it though, since it makes me really, really hungry. Also, it means a 4-5 hour round-trip commute. The ferry's pretty cool, though. Too bad I can't go up to the bow and reenact that scene from Titanic. (Or this scene, even.) |

The red paths are possibilities for the computer I'm guessing. Kudos for the AI knowing the wall-jump trick.
Apparently it was for a Mario AI Competition
(In other news, robutts stage hostile take overs of tasvideos.org and speeddemosarchive.com, yet still lack enough humor to do Let's Plays.) |

Otherwise, I am enjoying a continued unplanned descent into madness and nihilism and misanthropy. I'm sure no one around me is enjoying it though... |

I've been cheating through Fallout 3, and it's fueled my inner hoarder. I have +1000 [Bent]Tin Cans and 580 Small Ruined Books. My weight is 16000, which is definitely OVER NINE THOUSAN
Watched Ponyo. A fun, irreverent movie that doesn't make much sense, but doesn't really have to. Something really refreshing about that, as opposed to American films which...well don't really make much sense either but still manage to take themselves way too seriously. Bonus points for Spirited Away-style post-apocalyptic landscape. |

So the past few days I drove down to Hollywood to check out a Gnomon Workshop that was happening down there. I think the most interesting part was the final lecture by Neville Page (the guy who worked on Cloverfield and the new Star Trek). Basically he got permission to show a bunch of sketches and photo refs that were involved in production and concepting. I think the photo of the prolapsed anus was the most interesting. But anyway, he talked alot about the kind of shotgun approach to designing a world/creature, and how long and serpentine the path was to figuring out what kinds of aliens should there be or what Big Red looks like.
I had to do that too (the shotgun approach I mean, not working on an extremely well received revival of a legendary sci-fi universe), and I always figured that I was just retarded. Well, I guess I'm not and I just have to get used to the feeling of flailing about in the darkness.
Also, there is a hole in the ozone layer RIGHT ABOVE THIS:
